Lawrence Kahana M.D., F.A.C.P., Transplant Nephrology

Dr. Kahana completed his internship in Medicine at the University of Virginia Hospital, where he also received a fellowship in Metabolism and Endocrinology.
He was an Assistant Resident at Barnes Hospital in Internal Medicine and then completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at Duke University Medical Center.
After establishing his endocrinology practice in 1960, Dr. Kahana then branched out into nephrology. Dr. Kahana has served as Co-Director of Tampa General Hospital's Dialysis Unit from 1966 to 2000 and its Kidney Transplant Service from 1979 to 2000.
He is also Co-Chair of TGH's Organ Transplant Committee. Dr. Kahana is a Professor of Medicine at the University of South Florida. Dr. Kahana has been a member of LifeLink's recovery and transplant nephrology team for over 15 years.
