Guillermo Cintron, M.D.

Guillermo Cintron, M.D., joins LifeLink from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. While serving as professor for USF, Dr. Cintron also provided consultant cardiology services to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Research Center and was the Chief of the Cardiology section at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tampa. Dr. Cintron has trained over 80 cardiologists and several hundred internists throughout Florida and Puerto Rico.
After graduating from the Loyola-Stitch School of Medicine, he completed his first year residency at Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington, DC and his second at Georgetown University Hospital. His cardiology fellowship was also completed at Veterans Administration Hospital with Drs. Jay Cohn and Ross Fletcher.
Dr. Cintron is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association's Council on Clinical Cardiology.
Dr. Cintron serves as a reviewer for a number of journals including the Journal of Cardiac Failure and has published numerous articles in the New England Journal of Medicine, the American Journal of Cardiology, Circulation and the American Heart Journal, to name a few.
A member of the Cardiac Transplant Committee at Tampa General Hospital, Dr. Cintron possesses extensive experience in the treatment of general heart disease with a specific interest in heart failure and transplant cardiology.
