Junaid Ahmed, M.D., joins LifeLink from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he completed fellowships in kidney transplantation and nephrology. After graduating with high honors from the prestigious Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, he relocated to the United States to complete his internal medicine residency at the State University of New York/Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and nephrology, Dr. Ahmed received the Best Resident Award from the State University of New York's Department of Internal Medicine. With a deep interest in clinical research, Dr. Ahmed has written numerous articles for publication and presented data from research on live kidney donation at the 2005 American Transplant Congress.
His articles have been published in the American Journal of Transplantation and the American Journal of Kidney Diseases, as well as Transplantation and Seminars in Dialysis. A member of numerous professional organizations including the American Society of Transplantation and the American Society of Nephrology, Dr. Ahmed will provide care to patients pre- and post-kidney transplant surgery, and will also serve dialysis patients and those living with chronic kidney disease.
